about

Written and recorded in 2012, first release to my solo Bandcamp page.

lyrics

like a shadow slipping into the room
you maybe see a silhouette by the light of the moon
quietly creeping, hiding under the bed
and tries to put the fear back inside of your head
becomes an itch you cannot seem to scratch
or maybe it's a fire that's in search of a match
but if the darkness gets a hold of your heart
there ain't nothing in this world gonna tear you apart

listen little sparrow, push it away
trade your despair for hope today
dig deep down and find the light
to shine in the face of the encroaching night.
hasten little sparrow, bring out the sun
time to wake up, and the nightmare's done
reach for the sky, spread your little wings
you've gotta lift up your heart, now it's time to sing.

like an animal, wounded in pain
I'm gonna send that shadow back into the rain
you can hear it crying 'cause it wants to get in
just to fill up your belly with hate and sin
it's a virus and it feeds on fear
it threatens every single thing that you hold dear
coiled up like a poisonous snake
well he's waiting to strike just to see what he can take

listen little sparrow, push it away
trade your despair for hope today
dig deep down and find the light
to shine in the face of the encroaching night.
hasten little sparrow, bring out the sun
time to wake up, and the nightmare's done
reach for the sky, spread your little wings
you've gotta lift up your heart, now it's time to sing.
