A Little Faith

by D. D. Danahy

/

about

Originally written and recorded in 2012 at my old house on Chase Street and released on Scolex Records.

lyrics

well, I saw you at your window
and I heard you lock your door
if the TV makes you paranoid,
what are you watching for?
is it my imagination, or am I feeling judged?
never came to hurt you, not asking for your love.

it seems when something's different,
we first react in fear
if we're frightened of each other,
then what are we doing here?
can we put aside our egos, will we ever learn to share?
I don't know how we'll fit unless we all become aware.

not seeking validation
but won't just give in and hate
not ready to give up the game,
but I need a little faith.

but I think if some weren't sleeping,
others wouldn't try to wake.
I don't want to be cynical,
though my fears say it's too late…
yet I cannot stop from trying to heal the wound I see
either if through your subconscious or lost in memory.

not seeking validation
but won't just give in and hate
not ready to give up the game,
but I need a little faith.
