Light of the Moon

from Phases (album) by D. D. Danahy

/

lyrics

well I stood at the window
and I looked at the moon
there, with the stillness
in the dark of my room
lost without moving
somewhere in my mind
I blindly go forward
leaving my self behind..

as some kind of transmission
trickles into my ears
like a beam of blue static
drowning out all my fears
surging through all my atoms
like the stars in the sky
lights the way through my shadow
and it opens my eyes

when we come through the portal
where we're much more than men
and we feel we're immortal
like we always have been
moving through this dimension
we are space, we are time
we create the lllusion
we're expecting to find

but maintaining the balance
standing firm in the grey
like the moon that's still with us
in the bright light of day
without trepidation
with our feet on the edge
pulling strings in our theories
hanging on by a thread

all these ways of perception
and the warnings we're fed
can be wings of ascension
or just chains made of lead
words, once for creation
now condemn and dismiss
has our manifestation
been reduced into this?

we can make a decision
to align with our will
turn off the television,
now it's making you ill
or we can close the shutters,
keep the light from our rooms,
turn our eyes toward the darkness,
and not dream with the moon.
